Zoltán Hermann is research fellow at the Institute of Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (IE-HAS). He has been working for IE-HAS since his graduation at Budapest University of Economics in 1996 (now Corvinus). He received his Ph. D. from the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2004. From 2000 until 2007 he was a research fellow at the National Institute of Public Education (Budapest). He was teaching at the University of Veszprém and Rajk László and Széchenyi István Colleges (both at the Corvinus University). His main research interests are economics of education and local public economics, especially the production of schooling and efficiency, inequalities in education, the effects of intergovernmental grants, the demand for local publicly provided goods and school competition.
