Fritz’ research focus is on efficiency and effectiveness at the school district level. Many approaches are followed to analyze the discrepancies in school district performance:  Organizational structures, scale economies, school district competition, and the political economy of educational funding mechanisms.

During his studies at KU Leuven, Fritz participated in study-abroad programmes including a summer school at LSE, London and an exchange to Fudan University, Shanghai. After completing his Master of Economics at KU Leuven with a dissertation on the “ Efficiency of education provision in Least Developed Countries”, Fritz started his PhD at LEER (Leuven Economics of Education Research) to further develop his research  interests in evidence-based education economics, with a strong emphasis on econometric models and methods.
